Amtrak Contractor Policies Endanger Riding Public
Outsiders decide who gets contractor clearances
The Pennsylvania Federation discovered an alarming reality; an
outside contractor is now responsible for all administration and
testing in connection with Contractor Orientation Training, and can
then issue contractor security photo ID badges allowing outsiders
access to Amtrak’s mainline and infrastructure. This new procedure,
issued by Steve Faulkenstein and approved by Amtrak’s former Chief
Engineer Frank Vacca,
www.amtrakcontractor.com
sets the wheels in motion for non-validated individuals to enter the
property for perhaps evil purposes. Designed for all contractors,
contractor employees, and contractor’s sub-contractors working with
or for the AMTRAK Corporation.
For the modest price of
$18.00, anyone, real or fictitious, can register online as a
contractor, real or fictitious, and take an online perfunctory test,
upload a picture, real or fictitious, and be issued a contractor
security photo ID badge which would allow access onto the property.
Anyone. Real or fictitious.
In a letter to New Jersey Senator
Frank Lautenberg, General Chairman Dodd discusses this security
threat and the potential for disaster. What is Amtrak thinking? And
who are these Contractor Orientation Training administrators?
